KEY AREAS FOR PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Content:
Originality – does the article contribute to knowledge in the field?
Readability – how accessible is the material to a non-specialized audience?
- are the theoretical materials coherently and consistently explained?
Relativity – does the article relate in some way to the theme of the edition?
- is the subject matter appropriate for an academic journal?
Referencing – complete referencing of all material?
Methodology – consistency in methodology and analysis?
- where relavent; is empirical data reliable and sufficient?
Style:
Structure – is the argument expressed in a cogent and logical style?
Language – academic standard English / Gaeilge.
(Aigne accepts both US and British English but insists on consistency within a single article submission regardless of standard used).
Formatting:
Citations - do all citations adhere to the House Style? (see Harvard style)
Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation.
